Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Woody  was the only boy of four youngsters.
His first name is Robert. As is obvious
here, it was Woody, years ago, who started the idea of wearing this style of jeans the kids are (almost) into today. He says today's jeans are a little longer.  But because he had such great legs he wanted to show them off to his many early fans.

  His piano garnered Woody many friends, especially the
ladies. Still, he temporarily abandoned the '88' because, at his young age, it was just too tough to backpack a piano. He took up the horn, joining a drum and bugle marching band. In a wink of an eye however, he found that pretty girls did not tag alongside trumpet players who tootled John Phillips Sousa tunes. He returned to the keyboard in short order.

TThen, along came the war.
