Perry was always my hero, as he was to countless others. Ever the gentleman, he was a joy with whom to share a show. His manager, Mickey Glass, and musical arranger/conductor Nick Perito outdid themselves to make certain every microphone, stage light, and prop was set perfectly by curtain time. I was privileged beyond words to be a part of his show business 'family'. Before any curtain, if I had so much as a single hair out of place, he'd set me on the arm of a hotel chair, haul out his barber tools for a quick snip. A great and gracious man. I miss him very much.
